John Gomperts  
CEO, Experience Corps

John S. Gomperts, CEO of Experience Corps, has extensive experience as a senior leader in government and the non-profit sector. Prior to joining Experience Corps, he was the chief operating officer of Public Education Network, the nation's largest network of community-based school reform organizations. Before that, Gomperts was Chief of Staff at the Corporation for National Service, the federal agency that administers AmeriCorps and the National Senior Service Corps, among other programs. At the Corporation, Gomperts spearheaded efforts to rebuild bi-partisan support for national service, expand service opportunities, and modernize and improve the Corporation's internal operations. Gomperts has also worked in senior policy positions in the U.S. Senate, first as legislative director for Sen. Harris Wofford of Pennsylvania, and then as deputy director of the Senate Democratic Leadership Committee, working for Sen. Tom Daschle of South Dakota and Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts. Gomperts is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and has a J.D. from Georgetown University.
